10 Famous Women Who Married Later in Life

Finding a husband to settle down with is no longer the biggest priority of women these days. Increasingly they are opting for professional success over early conjugal life which is why many among them are now marrying later in life. Here is a list of ten women who gathered fame and success before finding a partner to share all that with.

  1. Elizabeth Hurley

    This British model and actress shot to fame when she accompanied her then boyfriend actor Hugh Grant to a movie, premier wearing a plunging black Versace dress, held with golden safety pins. Liz Hurley has come a long way since that day in 1994 and now besides being a successful model and socialite, she is also an entrepreneur with her own line of beachwear.

    When she was 42, Liz Hurley got married to Indian businessman Arun Nayar. The wedding was a lavish two-part affair, first with Elton John giving away the Versace-clad bride in England and then a five-day affair in India involving dancing "virgins," a hot-pink Versace bridal sari, fire-eaters, and camel-led rickshaws. But despite all the hoopla, the marriage did not survive for long and a little more than three years later, Hurley announced through Twitter that she and Nayar were parting ways. The cause was believed to be Hurley’s link-up with Australian cricketer Shane Warne and in June 2011, the couple were formally divorced.

Bullock filed for divorce in April 2010 and by June that year they were officially divorced.

    Bullock got married to Jesse James in 2005 when she was forty-one; at the time she was a successful actress and producer while he was a motorcycle builder and host of the TV show Monster Garage. The two first met when bullock arranged for her ten-year-old godson to meet James as a Christmas present.
