Attractive passers-by pose serious hazard for drivers
London, September 17 (ANI): A beautiful passer-by is a major distraction for male drivers, a new UK study has found.
According to a research conducted by AA Insurance, seven out of ten male drivers admit to being distracted by attractive women passer-by.
Also, a survey by the company five years ago had revealed that 66 per cent of men and 10 per cent of women were distracted by a good-looking passer-by.
"We do notice an increase in the number of minor shunts during August,” the Scotsman quoted Simon Douglas, the company’s director as saying.
The chief insists that a lot of people do not admit to being distracted by beautiful people around them.
He said: "This research suggests distractions are likely to be a factor, although most people are unlikely to admit it on a claim form – especially if they were eyeing up an attractive member of the opposite sex, perhaps showing off their tan."
A pleasant view ranked as the top distraction for both men and women alike with 75 per cent saying a spectacular landscape would draw their attention.
A low-flying aircraft (55 per cent), billboards (52 per cent) and roadside art (30 per cent) were the other main distractions. (ANI)
