South Pacific Island Honeymoons - Tahiti
French Polynesia comprises 118 little islands spread across five archipelagos. Tahiti is located on one of them, the Society Islands. Tahiti sparkles with its blue seas, white sands and greenery. It has become famous due to the ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’ and the vivid adventures told of Captain Bligh and his crew. Painters, writers, and artists alike have waxed eloquent through their works on Tahiti and her wonders as well as the beauty of her inhabitants.
The natives are a hospitable and friendly lot and the islands resonate with the rhythm of their dances and the drumming beats of their music. As in most of these islands, the climate is pleasant through the year, with November to April being hot and humid.
The climate favours many different varieties of flowers that grow in abundance. The hibiscus here is yellow, unlike the pink or red variety that is commonly found in other countries, and local tradition demands that you wear one behind your left ear if you’re taken and behind the right ear if you’re for the taking! So sport a hibiscus behind your left ear, along with your new bride and soak in the unspoilt beauty of Tahiti.
