On December 10, 2022, I publicly stated that 2023 would be a very favorable year for Vicky Kaushal’s career and finances. I added that the year would begin strongly and set the tone for what followed. At that time, there was no loud narrative suggesting an imminent surge. Vicky Kaushal was respected as a talented actor, but a defining commercial phase had yet to fully unfold.
Within weeks, developments began aligning with that forecast.
In early 2023, Vicky Kaushal signed the historical epic Chhaava, taking on the powerful role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The scale and ambition of the project immediately signaled a significant career move.
That same year, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke emerged as a commercial success at the box office. He followed this with Sam Bahadur, which strengthened his stature as a leading actor capable of carrying large-scale narratives and getting Rs.20 crore for a film. He also featured in Dunki, adding to a year of high visibility and box office momentum.
The foundation laid in 2023 proved decisive.
When Chhaava finally released in 2025, it became a massive blockbuster, grossing approximately Rs. 827 crore worldwide. The film elevated him into a higher commercial league and confirmed that the phase identified in December 2022 was not temporary momentum, but the beginning of sustained growth.
What I described as a favorable year that would “start on a high and set the stage for the rest of the year” translated into multiple hits, increased stature and a major blockbuster that reshaped his box office standing.
